Impact 100 2020
Impact 100, an initiative of the Greater New Orleans Foundation, announced on November 17 that its $100,000 transformative grant will be awarded this year to Eden House. Impact 100 is a group of one hundred local women who have committed to giving $1,100 per year for the purpose of making a single transformative grant to a local nonprofit every year. These transformative grants will be game-changers for the recipient nonprofits. Over time, these nonprofits also will be game-changers for our city and region.

NEW ORLEANS – A few weeks ago, the Centers for Disease Control moved to protect our nation’s health by calling for a pause on most COVID-19-related evictions through the end of the year. This was sorely needed because supplemental federal unemployment benefits have expired and Congress has not renewed this critical assistance at any level.

Today, the Greater New Orleans Foundation (GNOF) released a groundbreaking new study commissioned from Waggonner & Ball Architecture/Environment. “Stormwater Opportunities: Spirit of Charity, Lafitte Greenway, and Armstrong Park” that provides recommendations that, if implemented, could lead to a 39% flood volume reduction during a 10-Year Storm in the New Orleans Central Business District, Treme, Tulane-Gravier, and Mid-City neighborhoods.
