Greater New Orleans Foundation Awards $322,000 in Grants to Combat Food Insecurity in Southeast Louisiana Magnified by COVID-19. Round IV Grants made possible from gifts to GNOF’s Disaster Response and Restoration Fund.

On Friday, May 1, the Greater New Orleans Foundation (GNOF) donated 7,000 Personal Protection Equipment (N95 and Surgical Masks) to Jefferson Parish first responders and service providers working on the frontlines of the pandemic in partnership with the Mary Freeman Wisdom Foundation, a family foundation partnering with GNOF.

With the continuing COVID-19 crisis revealing racial disparities in patient health outcomes across Louisiana, officials are hoping that the efforts of a state task force established by Gov. John Bel Edwards can dovetail with the work of several local New Orleans organizations that will receive grants from the Greater New Orleans Foundation (GNOF).

The Greater New Orleans Foundation (GNOF) announced $413,000 in grants from its Louisiana Service & Hospitality Family Assistance Program, an initiative to support low-income restaurant, hotel, and bar employees who have been adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and who are working hard to support their dependent children and elderly parents.

Today, the Greater New Orleans Foundation (GNOF) announced the donation of 1,600 Personal Protection Equipment (N95 and Surgical Masks) to UNITY of Greater New Orleans in their work to provide support to the homeless in our area in partnership with the Mary Freeman Wisdom Foundation, a family foundation partnering with GNOF.
