The Greater New Orleans Foundation Joins the City of New Orleans to Announce Blue Bikes’ Return to the City
Today, Greater New Orleans Foundation President and CEO, Andy Kopplin joined Mayor LaToya Cantrell to announce that Blue Bikes, Louisiana’s first bikeshare program, will return to the City of New Orleans later this summer. A fleet of 500 pedal-assist e-bikes will be ready to ride by September 1.

Greater New Orleans Foundation Announces $100,000 in New Grants from its LGBTQ Fund
Today, the Greater New Orleans Foundation (GNOF) announced new grants from its LGBTQ Fund totaling $100,000 to 18 area nonprofits. The Greater New Orleans Foundation’s LGBTQ Fund supports organizations that increase the quality of life and access to opportunity for LGBTQ individuals and families, particularly the most marginalized members of the community, including elders, transgender youth and adults, LGBTQ people of color, low-income LGBTQ people, and LBGTQ persons who are disabled. Since its inaugural year (2016), the GNOF’s LGBTQ fund has made over $450,000 in grants to 43 nonprofits across our region.

In the decade and a half since Hurricane Katrina turned their community upside down, responding to damage from extreme weather—hurricanes, floods, tornadoes—had become a staple of their work.
