Fund Development with Individual Donors

The Bayou Community Foundation is partnering with the Greater New Orleans Foundation to present a workshop on Fund Development with Individual Donors. This learning opportunity is focused on sharing concepts and tools to help participants design a successful individual donor program for their nonprofit organizations.

This workshop is open exclusively to nonprofit organizations located in and serving Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes and Grand Isle. The content and materials are designed for executive directors, program and development staff, and board members. We strongly encourage organizational teams comprised of a staff member and a board member.  In this workshop, you will learn:

  • The steps to building an successful individual donor program
  • The capacities needed to manage an individual donor program
  • The typical methods for raising money from individuals
  • How to engage board members and volunteers in fundraising with individuals
  • Practical tools to support your individual donor program
  • Social media strategies for fund development with individual donors
  • Proven practices in individual donor cultivation and stewardship

Participants will be asked to complete donor profiles as a pre-workshop assignment.

The Fund Development with Individual Donors workshop is being held on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 9:00 am-12:30 pm in the first floor meeting room of the Terrebonne Parish Main Library, 151 Library Drive in Houma.  Doors will open at 8:30 and we are encouraging participants to arrive early for breakfast and networking. The workshop will start promptly at 9:00 am.

This workshop is exclusively open to nonprofit organizations located in and serving Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes and Grand Isle. There is no cost for the workshop, however, registration is required and will be accepted on a first-come first-serve basis. Seating is limited, so we encourage you to register today.
