Are You Ready for an Endowment?

As your organization looks ahead, is establishing or growing an endowment or reserve in your plans? If so, you should consider attending our readiness workshop for the Richard West Freeman Endowment and Board-restricted Reserve Challenges.

This workshop is designed to help organizations determine their readiness to participate in one of the challenges and is a mandatory prerequisite to apply for one of the challenges. Organizations are encouraged to review the info page and grant guidelines to ensure eligibility for the challenges prior to registering for the workshop.

During the workshop, participants will gain an increased understanding of the purpose of an endowment and board-restricted reserve, and they will have an opportunity to complete a readiness checklist to determine if they are ready for either of the Challenges. We will also provide best practices on fundraising for an endowment or board-restricted cash reserve.  This workshop is for executive directors, fund development staff, and board members–organizational teams are encouraged.

We hold these workshops multiple times, and you can attend in-person or virtually. Please note these are repeat sessions-you should only register to attend one workshop.

The workshops dates and times are the following:

• Tuesday, January 24^th from 9:00-12:00 pm, in-person, at the Greater New Orleans Foundation
• Wednesday, January 25^th from 1:00-4:00 pm, in-person, at the Greater New Orleans Foundation
• Wednesday, February 1^st from 10:00-12:00 pm, virtually on Zoom

For the in-person workshops, the Greater New Orleans Foundation is located at 919 St. Charles Ave. New Orleans, LA 70130 and parking will be provided.
